100 MW Zambia Solar Power Project

Powering Zambia’s next phase of sustainable growth.

Q Energy Renewable Ltd is advancing the development of a proposed 100 MW utility-scale solar power project in Zambia — contributing additional renewable generation capacity while supporting the country’s growing industrial and economic needs.

Our focus

We are developing the project through the required technical, environmental, commercial, regulatory and contractual stages — toward bankable project status and future financial close.

  1. Stage 1Technical
  2. Stage 2Environmental
  3. Stage 3Commercial
  4. Stage 4Regulatory
  5. Stage 5Contractual

The investment opportunity

Development capital to take the project to bankability.

Q Energy Renewable is seeking strategic development funding to progress the project through its next critical development stages — the work required to advance it toward a bankable development proposition.

Development funding may support

  • Feasibility and technical studies
  • Grid and interconnection assessment
  • Environmental and social studies
  • Legal and regulatory work
  • PPA / offtake development
  • Financial modelling and project structuring
  • Licensing and development activities
  • Preparation for subsequent project financing

Please note

Development capital — not construction capital.

The initial development funding supports the work required to make the project bankable. It is not the total construction cost of the 100 MW power plant, which would be addressed through subsequent investment and project-financing arrangements.

Why Zambia

A power market built around diversification.

841 MW

Installed solar PV capacity in 2026 — up from 88 MW in 2021.

Mining & industry

Identified in the Integrated Resource Plan as key drivers of future electricity demand.

Zambia’s electricity strategy places significant emphasis on diversifying the national energy mix and increasing investment in renewable generation. The Government’s Integrated Resource Plan identifies solar and other renewable technologies as important components of future generation growth, alongside rising demand from mining, industry and agriculture.

Q Energy Renewable intends to participate in this evolving market by advancing a commercially structured utility-scale solar project.

  • Step 5

    Deliver.

Progress toward construction and long-term commercial operation, subject to all required approvals, agreements and financing.

Project status

Where the project stands today.

The project is being advanced through its development stage. We are seeking development capital and strategic partners to undertake the work required to progress the project toward bankability.

The project remains subject to feasibility studies, regulatory processes, grid assessments, offtake/PPA arrangements, financing, definitive agreements and applicable approvals.
